My family are purists when it comes to making satay, they’d go through the trouble of pounding all the dried spices just for the marinade, but it’s definitely worth the hassle if you want really authentic home made satay.
The sauce you use is kinda thick and smooth. Not what I’m used to, but I’m curious what it tastes like.

@vintagejar23 You don’t want to burn your bamboo skewers when you’re grilling your satay.

@33barbington WRONG … NOT Singapore… Its from Malaysia… Food is WAY better in Malaysia than Singapore… and all the food in Singapore is originally from Malaysia…
June 26th, 2011 on 10:48 pm
This is street food from Singapore. They serve it with a robust, spicy peanut sauce and thin icy cold cucumber slices on the side. Incidentally, the locals call it “Sah-Dare” as in “if you dare”, with the accent on the second syllable. Thanks!
